6-9 Depaul Forward Rashaun Stimage Signs in Canada.

Athletic Forward Rashaun Stimage (6-9 Depaul 2016) has signed with the Cape Breton Highlanders of the NBL Canada. Stimage is the 5th Free Agency player to sign in the NBL Canada this year. Stimage is a big time athlete who had a solid season at Depaul last year, and has a great upside. Free Agency Director and FIBA Agent David Gonzalez messaged Free Agency Director of Scouting Michael Stinnett about Stimage, based on information he got from Rashaun's good friend Ayinde Sprewell. Stinnett watched film on Stimage and then talked with Rashaun and things fell into place. Also the Depaul coaching staff was very helpful in the process, especially assistant coach Phil Sellers. Stimage had great interest from several clubs and a few offers in Europe, but Cape Breton Head Coach Dean Murray showed the most interest and liked what he saw in Rashaun immediately. He and Cape Breton GM Tyrone Levingston talked and reviewed video and offered Rashaun a contract. Stinnett has known Coach Murray for several years and has a lot of respect for him. Coach Murray has coached at the NCAA Division 1 level and in the NBA DLeague, as well as several overseas pro leagues and most recently in China. Coach Murray also attended the Free Agency Pro Day in Las Vegas this summer. Murray believes that Rashaun can be an excellent pro and that the NBL is a great league for him to get started.
