Darius Gibson Signs in Canada

Former Lexington Tates Creek and Samford (NCAA Div. 1) product Darius Gibson has signed to play for the Moncton Miracles in the NBL Canada. Gibson played for former University of Kentucky and NBA standout Scott Padgett at Samford. He also had as an assistant coach his junior year a good friend of Coach Stinnett's in Marc Salyers (Apollo/Sanford/European Standout). Gibson signed with Free Agency Basketball in late April, and has been a pleasure to work with. Gibson averaged 15 points per game and 3.5 assists per game last year at Samford, and was a standout player in the conference. This summer he played in the Kentuckiana Pro Am with the Free Agency Basketball team and had an excellent showing in two games. He also played well in Las Vegas this summer and caught the eye of Moncton head coach Paul Mokeski at the first annual Free Agency Pro Day. Mokeski loved his ability to get to the rim and finish, and his ability to pressure the ball on defense. Mokeski had a great NBA career as a player, most notably with the Milwaukee Bucks. We are very excited for Darius this year, and for the future. #FreeAgencyBasketball #SBSServices
