NAIA All American Blake Smith Signs with Free Agency Basketball
Free Agency Basketball is excited to announce the signing of 6-3 Combo Guard Blake Smith ("The Mountain Mamba") from Alice Lloyd College. Smith played high school basketball at traditional Kentucky power Clay County and scored 1,703 career points. He recently finished at NAIA Alice Lloyd (NCCAA Mid East Region Champs) where he totaled 2,304 career points and was named to the NAIA All American team. He averaged 26.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists this past season. He was named to the First Team River States Conference team and the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Player of the Year. He had 11 games that he scored 30 or more points in and 2 games of 40 plus this past season."David (David Gonzalez President/FIBA Agent) and I are really excited about Blake. We know he was well coached under current Coach Scott Cornett and former Alice Lloyd Coach JR Hammond. Coach Hammond told me about the player and then I begin to follow him. Then after the season I got to watch his film and really feel he is a special player. He can play the 2 or 1 and is a big time leaper. My son said Dad he reminds me of Tyler Herro and after watching there are a lot of similarities. Anyone that knows me knows that I like guys who can flat score the ball and he can do that as well as a lot of other things. Last year we took Trenton Thompson (Asbury/Finland) out of this conference and he had a great year in Finland. I feel Blake can get in a good situation and have an outstanding year for a pro club. He will be a great fit for someone wanting an all around guard. I also will note that Blake took part in our overseas podcast we had last weekend and has been humble through the process and this also really sticks out in our signing of him. We have to get realistic guys who trust the process and trust us. We are going to work hard for Blake. He is an excellent player" Michael Stinnett (Free Agency Director of Scouting). We will be signing 3 to 4 more guys to go along with the returning players we have over the next few weeks. Free Agency Basketball has placed 150 players over the last 4 years. *See Blake Smith Highlight Below!!!
