Palmer Signs for FSU Selfoss in Iceland
Free Agency Client Darryl Palmer (South Carolina State 2016) has signed for FSU Selfoss in Iceland for next season. Palmer was named MVP of the North Cyprus league last season. He averaged 18.2 points (league leader) and 14.9 rebounds (league leader) for Yakin Dogu Universitesi. He also had the highest player efficiency (36.2) of all players in the league. Palmer has experience as a pro in several countries (Turkey, Estonia, Albania, England, North Cyprus).
"We are real happy for Darryl and think this is a good opportunity for him. Coach Chris Caird really likes him as a player and a veteran leader for the Selfoss team. Coach Caird also really works with players individually and this will be great for Darryl. David Gonzalez (FIBA Agent/Free Agency President) and I really have grown to like the professionalism of Darryl Palmer and feel he will be a great player for Selfoss and at the same time provide great leadership. He is coming off of amazing season last season in North Cyprus and we look for that to continue in Iceland for sure" said Michael Stinnett (Free Agency Director of Scouting).
