SBS/Free Agency 2nd Annual Cincinnati Pro Exposure Workout Results
The SBS/Free Agency Cincinnati Pro Exposure Workout was held Saturday September 29 at Landmark Sports Complex. The following information is about the MVP and All Workout Team. Several good players were at the 2nd Annual event but these were the top overseas prospects on this day based on evaluation from Free Agency Director of Scouting Michael Stinnett and Free Agency Regional Scouts John Tinsley and Brandon Lampley.
MVP - Devin Carter (Arkansas State 2017) 6-4 2/3 3/2 who can play point if needed - Carter has a pro body and is very long. He led his team to the championship and helped develop a good chemistry with his leadership and team play. He also scored the ball very well. He can shoot it from NBA range and also showed the ability to get to the rim with a solid variety of moves. Carter can play at a very good level overseas. PG Andrew Finley 5-9 Mt. St. Joseph (2018) Finley is a solid PG who can flat run a team. We were impressed with his enthusiasm and passion the entire day. He can get the team in the offense and also really knows how to use the ball screen and make plays. He shot the ball with a lot of consistency from deep and also finished some very difficult shots in traffic. He also is a solid passer. He could really help an overseas team looking for a solid PG who can run a team and can really get after it defensively. Finley averaged 17 a game his senior year and shot 42% from three point land. SG Jayllen Carter 6-2 Shawnee State University (2018) Carter is a solid 2/3 or 3/2 who is very athletic and versatile. Carter can shoot the 3 and take you off the bounce. He also is very strong and can finish well in a variety of ways around the basket. He also can lock down on defense and guard multiple positions. He played well in our Louisville workout and also this workout. He averaged 16 points and 4 rebounds his senior season at Shawnee State. PF/SF Zach McCorkle 6-7 Wilmington (2016) and last two years Kentucky Enforcers ABA - McCorkle is a versatile forward who can play the 4 or 3. He can post and knock down shots from the perimeter. He also seems to really understand the game well and has a good feel. He also can guard several positions. He had a good all around day in drill work and in game play. SF Kairo Cannon 6-6 Stillman (2016) - Cannon is a versatile left handed small forward who can play the 4 if needed. He showed the ability to score on the block as well as step out on the floor. He also had a great attitude the entire day in drill work and team play. He scored and rebounded well in the games and was consistent scoring the ball the entire day. Combo Guard Jeremie Tyler Ball State (2018) - Tyler is a versatile combo guard who can score the ball. He really turned his game up in the championship game and showed the ability to hit the 3 and drive the ball. He is very quick and a good defender. PG Charles Foster 6-0 Kentucky Wesleyan (2017) - Foster is a smooth guard who has a good feel for the game. He can run a team is a solid offensive player. He has a good IQ of the game having played in a good high school and college program. He shot well and passed it well on this day. PG/Combo Kevin Shaw 6-2 Kentucky State (2016) - After reviewing film Shaw really did an excellent job in the drill work portion of the event. He really shot it well and has excellent ball handling skills. Then in game play, he did a really good job of running the PG position for his team. He showed the ability to score the ball in a variety of ways and made some great passes after receiving ball screens and on the break. SG/SF Maalik Dalton 6-2 JCTC - Dalton made the 2017 all Cincinnati workout team and this year came back better than the year before. He is in great shape and his overall game is much improved. Dalton scored the ball very well from the perimeter and on the drive on this day (had single game high of 15 points in 20 min running clock half). SF Tevin Andrews 6-6 Apprentice - Andrews is a versatile wing who can flat score the basketball in a variety of ways. He is very athletic and can rebound the ball on both ends of the floor. Andrews has a special ability to put the ball in the basket from the perimeter, on the drive, or posting up. He has a nice jump hook around the basket and is able to score over bigger defenders at will.
